Blackberry Market

Blackberry Market is…

a fast-casual cafe and marketplace in downtown Glen Ellyn (IL) offering fresh handcrafted meals, week day dinners to-go, premium coffee, yummy baked goods, grab-and-go market items, and a robust catering menu.

We believe in thoughtful food that is non-processed, handmade, and fresh. We recognize that food is not only a means to nourishment, but an excuse to pause, reflect, and connect with those we love. Blackberry was designed with this in mind – an active space for meaningful conversations alongside healthy and thoughtful food.

Once upon a time…

…there was a little Southern girl who loved food above all other worldly pleasures. She followed her mama to the supermarket and badgered her with questions about cooking. And as soon as she was old enough to stand on a chair and reach the counter, she could be found in the kitchen with a cloud of flour swirling around her. One of her earliest memories of food is picking blackberries from the hills surrounding her grandparents’ home in Northwest Arkansas, where she first learned to make blackberry pies and jam.

It wasn’t long before Anna was cooking for her family and friends, which began a tradition that she continues to this day – welcoming the community at her kitchen table with plates of food that are always as beautiful as they are yummy.  Opening Blackberry Market is an extension of Anna’s welcoming kitchen, a place you can walk in and always feel you belong.

Monday –  Friday: 7a – 7p
Saturday & Sunday: 7a – 5p

*Note: We sometimes close a little early in the evening for private events. We typically will post this on our website the day of the event.

We do offer free wi-fi; however, when needed we designate our main dining room as laptop free during our cafe rushes. Signs will be posted and staff will communicate to you on days when this is needed to serve our dining only customers. We understand that Blackberry is a great environment to get work done, but we also encourage all our patrons to be present with those around you – friends and strangers alike. If technology is absolutely needed, please use it. If it’s not, utilize the space for meaningful conversations.

Outside Seating

During the warm months, we provide outside seating. Our Street Side tables offer great people while. We also have a wonderful back patio that we encourage you to try. We’re keen to think it’s one of the best patios in town!

Much love…

Here’s the story. We had an idea. But we were uncertain if the community would support it. We were wrong.

Before we began construction, we still needed to raise additional funds to open the space. We decided to (attempt to) raise the last portion of funds through the community utilizing a crowd-sourced funding platform called Indiegogo. We were blown away by the love and support. We raised well over our initial goal of $15,000! The following are individuals/couples that helped us reach our goal and open our doors. Thanks community!

Blackberry Funders/Supporters

Please note: We are working on a full/proper list of all supporters here. In the meantime, you can check all of the funders out here via Indiegogo.

Plain and simple.

There is no way that Blackberry Market would have opened without some key partnerships from the very beginning. Not only do we recognize that an endeavor such as this requires many talented teams and individuals, we would not want to do this without those we love and trust.

The following individuals/groups have played (and continue to play) an integral part of Blackberry’s beginnings and future. More to come on each of them!
